Step by Step Guide to Renting
So you have found the right property for you … what next?
Step 1:
Complete the application form, (can be downloaded from our website) and provide the following with the relevant fee/s:-
- PASSPORT OR PHOTO DRIVING LICENCE (WE NEED TO SEE ORIGINALS)
- PROOF OF CURRENT ADDRESS
- NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER
- 3 MONTHS BANK STATEMENTS
- 3 MONTHS WAGE SLIPS
If a guarantor is required (we will let you know if this is needed) they will also need to provide the above information.
Please not, this step can take an average of 3 working days to process.
Step 2:
When you have passed all relevant checks we need to agree a moving in date.
Step 3:
All monies need to be paid in cleared funds prior to the move in date. BACS Payment preferred, online via our website or cash.
Step 4:
Moving date is here! You will meet at the property with one of our appointed agents, where you will complete the relevant paperwork, contract and inventory. (Please allow 90 mins)
Step 5:
We will inform council and all nominated utility companies that you are now the occupier of the property and we will provide all meter readings to them.
Step 6:
So you’re in and settled…. you will receive in the post (within 10 days) your deposit registration certificate. Please sign and return one copy to Godiva Estates
Step 7:
As you have already completed the standing order form on the day of moving in, please now check that your bank has actioned the request (this is your responsibility and prevents you from incurring administration charges as per contract)
Step 8:
If you notice any maintenance issues (leaks etc.), please contact us as soon as possible to have these issues rectified.
